DUKE ROPER BOOTS NATURAL ROUGHOUT
Horween Leather CXLSend us an email if your size isn't currently available.
The John Lofgren Bootmaker Duke roper boots are inspired by two Dukes. One is an American western icon, and the other is the Duke of Wellington. The latter Duke wore Hessian boots, military-issued footwear British troops wore at the time. The boots were known for having short heels, pointed toes, tassel-decorated tops, and ease of getting in and out of stirrups. The Duke of Wellington commissioned a shoemaker to modify his personal Hessian boots to create a boot with a one inch heel and a mid-calf shaft. Those boots are thought to be directly linked to modern-day ropers. And like so many things in fashion, the origins are of course, military. Our Duke roper boots convey passion and our commitment to excellence. They are totally built in Japan with master craftsmanship in all details.
